Plant Proteomics. 2006. (Annual Plant Review, 28). illus. 274 p. gr8vo. Hardcover.
Proteomics is the large scale study of protein, particularly theirstructures and functions. This term was established to make analogy to'genomics', and while it is often considered as thenext step, proteomics is much more complicated than genomics. While the 'genome'is a rather constant entity, the 'proteome' differs from cell to celland is constantly changing. The entirety of proteins in an organismthroughout its life cycle are referred as the 'proteome' of theorganism or cell type respectively. The present volume shows howproteome analysis has been used to research plant biochemistry and physiology.
