Plants of Capricornia. 2011. Many col. photogr. VII, 588 p. 4tp. Hardcover.
The Capricornia region of central Queensland has a remarkebly diverse mix of habitats. Not only does it contain a range of both tropical and subtropical plant communities, but coastal dune and wetland communities and semi -arid brigalow, eucalypt and thicket communities also occur in close proximity. There is also a group of communties on the mineral - rich soiles derived from serpentinite which are unique with Queensland. The habitats contain a rich flora which has been poorly studied and there has long been a need for a definitive guide in the rapidly developing region. The authors have taken up the challenge and produced an informative, accurate and attractive book. -Names, descriptions, habitat, distribution, human usages, one to three col. photographs for each plant.
