This is the second, supplemented edition of "The Sphagnum mosses of Estonia". The main idea of this book is to encourage everyne to get acquainted with Sphagnum species infield conditions as well as under the microscope. The general part of this book gives an overview of the anatomy, ecology, distribution, use and protection of Sphagnum mosses. The identification keys, summary of species characteristics, and figure captions are given also in English, since all the 40 Sphagnum species described here are known in temperate regions of the northern hemisphere.

With the help of this book, the authors hope to lead readers into the amazing world of Sphagnum species, which may look confusingly similar at first glance but are attractively unique and beautifull upon closer examination.
