Flora Euganea. 2025. illus. (col.). 848 p. gr8vo. Paper bd. - In Italian, with Latin nomenclature.
The flora of the Euganean Hills, comprising 1,652 vascular plants and 188 bryophytes, represents an extraordinary treasure trove of biodiversity, all within an area of less than 200 km². For all tracheophytes, the following are listed: scientific name, author, life form, chorology, synonyms, common name, the name in the Paduan dialect where possible, frequency, distribution within the area, ecology, the flowering or sporulation period, the first discoverer from the 16th century onwards, and the risk level according to the Euganean Hills Red List and the Veneto Red List.
For all bryophytes, the relevant scientific name, ecology, frequency and distribution within the area are provided. Around a thousand species are carefully described in dedicated entries accompanied by adequate photographic documentation.
The work also contains several sections on climate, geology, vegetation and habitats, useful for understanding the unique characteristics of the Euganean flora. It is, therefore, a handbooksuitable not only for experts, but also for anyone who wishes to learn more about a region that is unique in Italy.
