An ecological study on the benthic algal flora of the river Gomati inLucknow (India) has been made over a period of one year, extending fromJanuary 1977 to December 1977. A total of 21 parameters (6 biological,15 physico-chemical) were selected. The biological parameters werethe total algae, percentage diatoms, percentage chlorophyceae,percentage euglenophyceae, percentage cyanophyceae, and the Shannonindex of diversity for the diatom community.
