Biodiversity of Orchids in Medog, Xizang, China. 2025. illus. 536 p. gr8vo. Hardcover. - Chinese, with Latin nomenclature.

Currently, China has recorded approximately 170 genera and 1980 species of orchids belonging to 5 subfamilies, making it one of the countries with the richest orchid diversity in the world. However, due to factors such as funding, transportation, climate, and geology, there are many gaps in biodiversity research in many parts of China, particularly in Medog County in southeastern Tibet. Since 2005, research teams have entered Medog more than 60 times to conduct biodiversity surveys, discovering numerous new taxa, including 20 new species of Medog orchids such as *Cymbidium tibetense*, *Phalaenopsis medogense*, *Cymbidium medogense*, *Cymbidium milinense*, and *Cymbidium linzhiense*, as well as many newly recorded genera and species. Currently, Medog has recorded over 530 species of orchids belonging to 109 genera and 4 subfamilies, making it one of the counties with the richest orchid diversity in China. This book introduces 107 genera and 511 species (including varieties and subspecies) of orchids in Medog. In addition, there are some orchid species that need to be identified and studied, including Gastrodia, Ligustrum, and Bulbus.
