Un herbario loquiano: todas las flores, hierbas y arboles que crecen en la obra de Federico Garcia Lorca. With illustrations by Imma Pla. 2024. illus. 315 p. gr8vo.- In Spanish.
Flowers, herbs and trees are a key component of Federico García Lorca's poetic and dramatic language. If we were to turn his work upside down and all the verses and phrases fell out except those that have roots, that is, those that include some kind of plant species, when we turned it back upright we would find ourselves in a lush garden. Lorca's poetry and theatre contain a garden composed of 143 species. Some are rare, most are recurrent and a few are almost endemic, but all are full of voice and meaning.
This book is an ambitious and artistic work, the result of a comprehensive study of the work of Federico García Lorca. A delight for the senses, an approach to Lorca's theatre and poetry through the plants that adorn and feature in them.
